Matthew Matt James was born in North Carolina on December 5 1991. Matthew Matt James is a mixed race son of Manny James (of Jamaican descent) as well as Patty James. His father is Nigerian and his mother caucasian American. He graduated of Sanderson High School. In 2015, he graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree at Wake Forest University. James was initially known for his part as the reality show's Bachelorette's star. In 2020, he was chosen to be the next bachelor on The Bachelor's season 25, becoming The first African American male lead which will premiere in 2021. James is the perfect fit for the job as he's tall, handsome and funny. Rachael Krakconnell, whom he had chosen as his girlfriend to date for the rest of the season. James was paired with dancer Arnold who was popular in the era of his participation in the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James as well as Arnold finished 12th place.
